Below you will find the pictorial research that drove the show, as well as the documents used to organize my ideas and convey information.

The three panels above showcase the overall inspirational research for my contributions to this show. We talked a great deal about blending time periods in the scenery (similar to Edward Scissorhands, also seen in the research) to create a space free of specific time constraints. Some abstract, expressionist veins of design were utilized to further push the show toward a slightly unnerving, slightly removed place.

A great deal of inspiration for this show came from this ballet rendition of Edward Scissorhands. Some precise elements (flooring, houses in the background) had inspired parts of our show that we didn’t have the time or resources to fully implement, but the show’s design still owes credit to the scenic design from this ballet.

Shown here is the final rendering I used to communicate ideas to my design and production teams. As you can see from the production photos, not every element in this rendering ended up in the final product (either due to time constraints or through facing developments in tech and dress rehearsals), but the ideas and general shape remained the same.

On top of being the scenic designer for the show, I took on the several Technical Director duties, which included developing the Strike Schedule, shown above.
