BRING IT ON
Below you will find a snapshot of my research image board, musical research, the operating app for the show, and my score sheet.
The overall inspirational research I put into the piece. The show went through a lovely arch, both in its text and in the nature of performing outside as it slowly turned dark. The show starts bright and happy and as we go from scene to scene we transition into a very emotionally driven narrative, with broken bonds and betrayals, so the lighting palette of the show shifted to a more saturated place. What also assisted this narrative shift was the fact that the sun went down and allowed said saturated colors to pop more.

For this show, I curated a playlist to put myself in a specific state of mind as I did research. Given some of its folk elements (being outside and having life instrumentation), folk music was the majority of the playlist.
An app I used to control the LED fixtures wirelessly. Since it was a non-standard space, we can to bring in a lighting system. I used some Phillips light bulbs built for indoor spaces, and controlled them from an app on my phone to change colors and intensities. Said app allowed me to make a variety of cues (pictured above).
A score sheet, which I used to organize my ideas for color key and overall appearance from scene to scene.
