I was the Scenic Designer for this production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (by Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice) in March of 2017 with South Kitsap High School. Below are some production photos from the show.

This production was my first plunge into real world scenic design, and being that it was outside of my undergrad I had relatively little hand holding for the process. That being said, I faced that challenge head on and put forth the work that was necessary. The production occurred in a city three hours away from my undergrad so a great deal of the process was done through email. This also meant that I had to be very clear in communicating how objects were meant to be constructed and what the painting intention was meant to be. I had my successes and failures in the communication department, but the failures came down to lack of experience not lack of commitment to the project. Most weekends of winter quarter that year I was visiting South Kitsap High School to help build and paint the show, which was a laborious task but helped face to face communication remain consistent and was ultimately for the best of the production. It was also my first exposure to the realm of budgetary limitations (which, in theoretical class assignments, had never come up), so it was a good experience for me in working through how to carry out a vision if every ideal piece is not financially possible.
